WILD ANIMAL MANAGEMENT

Kahu has over 30+ years of wildlife management in NZ and around the world. We capture, dart, shoot and muster wildlife (including birds) for many different management requirements and agencies. Our crew are some of only a few remaining wildlife pilots currently practising this skill set today.

Wild Animal Management

Kahu NZ commenced operations in 1998, shooting and recovering feral deer from the wilderness of New Zealand. Recovery operations spanned the length of New Zealand. We are experienced in the management of wild animals by helicopter using specialist skills and equipment to help undertake your requirement.

We have experience capturing wild animals throughout USA, Canada, Mexico and Kenya. Working alongside veterinarians, biologists, game managers and wildlife agencies we help them achieve re-locations, collaring, sampling, data collection and other study tasks.

Shooting Birds

Aerial shooting of birds in the air, on the water or on terra firma, is incredibly efficient, target specific, productive and safe. Black Swans and Canadian Geese are extremely problematic to our environment and to aviation users. The use of helicopters with shooters is a very efficient, productive, accurate and safe means of culling these birds to manage the issues.

Netgunning

Netgunning is a great way to target specific species of game and capture them alive for further wildlife management. We have experience netgunning throughout the USA, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand and Kenya, capturing small to large ungulates (Grant’s Gazelles to Moose). We have the right equipment for reliable capture in all environments. For any escaped animals from farms, we can assist with the possible capture of animal/s if required.
