Firefighting Delivery Systems - TUU

Fire fighting Innovation for helicopter operators looking for tough, simple, reliable and affordable water delivery system. Coupled with some Kiwi ingenuity, TUU offers ‘two in one’ capability. Partnered with IMS, utilising their unique fire fighting buckets, TUU is a combination of some very clever capability.

LEARN MORE ABOUT TUU

The ability to collect large quantities of water from nearby water sources and distribute quickly across all types of fires is critical for fire management and response. Often the helicopter is the most valuable tool when looking to contain and extinguish the fires. The more water you can take to the fire the more effective you will be in containing and putting the fire out quickly. Heavy lift aircraft move a lot of water quickly and this is the key for rapid outcomes. Depending on the UH-60 model and conditions during the fill, up to 3350 litres (UH-60 E and A models) or 3750 litres (UH-60 L, M and S701 models) is drawn onboard and transported to the fire ground.

TUU Bucket

The TUU bucket belongs to the IMS lineage of legacy firefighting buckets. The capacity, depending on the UH-60 model, is either 3350 litres or 3750 litres. Coupled with a single external snorkel, the bucket can be placed into areas where the helicopter can’t get into when in tank mode or drawing sea water. The bucket valve is pneumatically operated. It’s multi drop and and capable of fire retardant or other fire chemical additive.

TUU Tank

Fire fighting innovation for helicopter operators looking for a tough, simple, reliable and affordable water delivery system. Coupled with some Kiwi ingenuity, TUU offers ‘two in one’ capability. Partnered with IMS NZ utilising their unique fire fighting buckets, TUU is a combination of some very clever can do.

TUU can be configured between (2) modes, seamlessly and quickly. There are no special tools required and can be undertaken in the field by pilots and or crew.

Tanking mode not only provides the operator with the ability to operate urban and meet various other contractual requirements, it also allows pilots and companies to firefight when they might not possess the skills or experience too long line (external load) competently. TUU is a game changer for maximising water dropping potential (500 litres per second) and utilising all competent aerial work pilots, not just the proficient line ones.
